[Modelsvit] Mirage 2000D 1/72 WIP

The kit 

First job, paint as many pieces as possible on the sprues

bonding of the two fuselage halves 

 

The ejection seats 

I'm making the two kits I received 

Gluing the walls of the landing gear boxes 

 

I refined the edge of these parts so that it does not touch the fuselage 

No interference! 

For gluing the wings, my method is to start by gluing the extrados... 

 

 

Then the lower surface on the fuselage on the nose side and the engine side 

 

Then I glue the intrados to the extrados 

and here is the joint line between the fuselage and the upper surface is correct

and finally air inlets 

 

Gluing the antennas, fins and control surfaces, and drilling holes for the different probes which will be glued later. 

Apply putty where it is needed 

Testing paint mixes
green = Gunze H 65 + H420
Blue gray = Gunze H42 + H331

Preparation of the canopies with masks and Maskol Humbrol 

Base paint, green and blue gray 

Painting almost finished, radome ok, nozzle ok! 

The AMX is big or the M2000 is small? 

Décals ok !

I applied the varnish (glossy alcad) 

the landing gears and gear doors are installed 

 

the tanks are those from Syhart, very good material 

the tank from Syhart, and that from Modelsvit 

the gray SCALP missile is that of Modelsvit, the lighter one comes from the box of the Hasegawa eurofighter 

I tinkered with the pylon to add the MDD (Missile Departure Detector), it will be an illusion! 

Painting of all the carriages, still a few points to finish and it will be good... just missing the missile 🙂

While waiting for the resin seats to arrive, I glued all the antennas, probes and installed the armament.
