The center stand was bugging me, so I had to take the big lumps off the ends.

Oops, spotted a finger print. It will wipe off.

I soaked the pre-coloured plastics in a weak bleach solution. Put them together, applied primer, gave them a coat of BMW silbergrau, dry brushed with Tamiya acrylic chrome (not very chromey in my opinion) then did a slight wash with grey oil paint.

Where are the keys?

The blue heat staining on the pipes came out better than I expected.

I'd like to thank Hiroboy.com for supplying the correct paint for this project. Without doubt, their paints are amazing to spray with.
I would suggest using various types and brands of black when building this kit. Try and stick to a pattern with them. Metal parts, plastic items, wheels etc I actually mixed a very dark grey for the chainguard and rear underside protector. Don't be afraid to add personal changes. If the bike was being used, bits would be replaced or altered. Lastly I used thinned grey oil paint around the engine to avoid the fake look.

Nice work, Andy. I hope you have better luck with the decals than I did. Finally reached the stage where I was putting the stripes on the tank, etc. and the decals were crap. Had to let them soak for quite awhile and when I finally got them to move, they broke. Very frustrating.

Thanks chaps. Regarding the decals. Hopefully mine are ok. What scheme did you paint, I could send you my leftovers?

I went with the box art. The blue/gray stripes. Not really a pain to change the scheme if I had to. Well, sort of, but not too bad! I saw a set on the auction site but am concerned about spending 25 bux just to find out I'm buying exactly what I had. Good luck with yours and let me know how they work out. I'd be glad to send you postage money.

Oh poo. I was planning on the black paint job. But haven't got that far in the process yet though. I'm not after any coinage for what is leftover.

😂 No worries, sir! You do what you're planning. If they work fine, I'll take what's left. I can change the scheme. No big deal. I already built the 1/12 version as the box art. A change won't hurt!
The gauges and whatever else, I can print. I tried printing the stripes but they need a solid background. Printing them on white decal paper is fine but that means they also have a white edge on the decal and they look like 💩
