AMT 1/24 1968 Shelby GT500

Body prior to primer.
This AMT mold is a cleaning nightmare. Thick mold lines, panel inaccuracies, big gaps in the vents...
A long session of sanding and filling to get to the priming point. 

 

 

 

Body primed, ready to paint 

Basecoat done. Color is House of Kolor Strato Blue. This is a solvent base acrylic automotive paint. Metallic flakes turned out a little bit out of scale but I think it will be allright.
3 thin layers, one medium layer and one wet layer 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This kit is a mojo killer. I'm setting it aside for a while before I throw it out the window. I'll get back to it in the future.
