A lovey box art you don't see quite often ... pure soviet era. I kept this very box from and old kit of the same moulds.

There’s a rather big difference in sizes. VEB kit is true to scale wether Tamiya kit is not. I've also hand brushed two coats of Gunze Silver H8. Also I've still manged to keep most that "lovey huge rivets" of old kits. 😉

I'm rather shocked about the big difference in size between Tamiya and VEB kits so I checked both against good references ... and the result is rather odd ...

VEB kit is spot on in lenght and span ..... Tamiya kit is grossly overscale in length (1/89 scale) and span (1/92) .... so even the VEB kit is more crude , lacks a lot of details and some details are pure phantasy ,,,, is spot in scale

Album info

Another retro-modelling project ... It should be 1/100 scale but is much smaller than the Tamiya Fishbed .... In the end it turned out that Tamiya kit is overscaled. So, in fact, VEB kit is really a 1/100 scale model. As usual in my retro-modelling projects ... no putty , no wet sanding , no airbrushing ,,, just fun ! ,,,, and lots of huge rivets ,,, hahahahahaha
