1/25 Centurion 165 AVRE
He's got a face now.
Bit grumpy ?
Aerials and the pulley on the back.
I've got the nasty job of putting bolt heads on the mantlet cover retainer soon.

Made a jig out of an old turret and a printout of the basket.....
As you will see, I'm not starting from a fresh kit. I found 3 on eBay a while back that had (huh hum) been finished. Suffice to say, I hopefully gave them a better home. But hey! Tanks are meant to be scruffy.
Ok, so this is the start of the back end.

Fenders in place, just need to shape them.
Did the job I was putting off, scratch building the side stowage bins, but I pushed on through. Also got the new printed aerial bases on.
The cradle is done (not shown here), the dozer is getting there slowly. Lights are on, a basic coat of paint is applied because so many areas are hard to get at even with my trust airbrush, so I'm painting as I go along now.
2.5 hrs and that's 4 extinguishers made and fitted.
I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel now.
I used the blutak sausage method for masking where the Nato Black areas are. The result was good for a first attempt.
Raw umber wash done on the hull. I'll leave it to settle before getting some more weathering on.
Mainly all that is left is to print out the decals, but I started the dirty-ing up process knowing that the dealc can still go on after.

That's a nice gesture. The fact that the kit is 52 years old is staggering. I wish there were other tanks of this era available.
