During the final stages of the European part of WW2, the "classic" submarine activities of the German Kriegsmarine were practically ceased with more of a focus having been given tto coastal operation with small midget submarines. The 2-man Type XXVII B "Seehund" was one of the more sophisticated of the small midget-submarines, but operations were still extremely risky for the crews with many boats being lost to the seas instead of enemy action. Despite this, the boat managed to sink some allied vessels in the Channel during their short service from late ´44 until the war´s end.

This project aims to depict one Seehund washed up on the North Sea shoreline in northern Germany by high tides and deposited in the resulting "Watt" (mud-flats). The command cupola/entry hatch has apparently been covered up by some tarps either blown there or deposited bysomeone finding the boat or maybe even one particular crew having been able to survive whatever put their boat out of action at sea. Anyhow, the scene will feature a bunch of curious crows having been atracted by something inside the boat and are now picking at the tarp-cover.
