Phil Marchese The manufacturer mislabled this limited edition because of a vagrence in the Fifth Air Force. By offical USAAF usage the versions in the kit and the similar (but wholey separate tool) Revell #4585 are the modified C1/D1 Series. Because the V BC recorded them as C-1/D-1 incorrectly the distinction from the Block designations is lost and thus dropped. If someone can post an image of the decal sheet I can resolve the issue in the options data.

Phil Marchese I looked at my copy of Larry Hickey's Warpath.... the Falcon nose on the box is likely a D1 however the call number would help. The 3BG AND 38 BG also flew these. Probably the 22 BG too however their gradual re-equiping as a Heavy BG somewhat overlaps the timeframe.
