All the film score except the traditional " 23rd Psalm " were written by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The lyrics to Ryuichi's "Forbidden Colours" the last track as the credits are shown, were written and sung by David Sylvian
(of the group Japan). Sakamoto won the 1983 BAFTA Award for Best Film Music for the film's soundtrack.

referring to the LP brilliant trees from David Sylvian featuring Sakamoto. In the latest Sakamoto album (I guess) titled 3 there's a version of the main theme of the film played wiht piano, cello & vilin. It's awesome, really good !!!
