Another blast from the past. Built this Matchbox 1/72 F-101 Voodoo so many years ago following a family vacation to Wyoming, where I caught my first close up look at a F-101 on static display. Bought this kit and modeled it after that very aircraft. The kit itself, while not remotely close to the standards of detail we might find today, had one major plus, durability. The parts were molded in thick sturdy plastic, more similar to that used to make toys as compared to model kits. Painted completely by brush using Testors enamels. This model has survived unscathed, move after move throughout my life and 20 years of military service.
