I decided to experiment and mimic the construction materials, then apply the base coat to see if it affected the outcome.

Base coat of Tamiya Dark Green 2 to fuselage and upper surfaces of the wings/tailplane.

It sort of did, there is a slight difference. Slight being the operative word.

Added some Dark Yellow and Yellow to the base coat and applied it to the wooden parts. Then added some Dark Green to pick out the indentations in the aerilons and tailplane and some shading.

Most paints used are Tamiya on the upper surfaces, Vallejo Metals and Mig Ammo for the rest.

Trumpeter 1:48 Scale Mikoyan - Gurevich MiG 3. He's only started another Soviet Era WW2 Build, It will end in tears and gnashing and wailing of teeth as usual!
