i agree with you gorbygould, this one is very good and perfect fit, also the metal base really helps to structure the kit. i also have a Citroen 11cv in stash to build but when it comes to quality it is nowhere near this staff car.
Now with good and warm weather it is time to start painting again 😄 so i'll be finishing the WIP's (at least some of them) and start new projects.
By the way, i found a nice supplier for electrical and electronic parts in Lisbon so i think i will try to bring light to some models. Let's see what comes up, maybe i try on the Shaguar before starting the AEC Routemaster.

That sounds very interesting - I look forward to seeing the Shaguar.
I've just done a couple of Airfix 1/48 vehicles (Albion fueller & Bedford MWD) if anything they were better than the Tamiya kits.

i was after that albion fueller but never got the chance to grab one, it seemed very interesting to place alongside a fighter or a bomber and i have a few 1:48 spits and one p-51c used by the RAF.
What would you think if i hosted a contest for scalemates mates? i have a huge stash so i can pick up an interesting item to be the prize depending on what is the theme
It wouldn't be about the prize though but only to act as an incentive for the mates to show their work.
This is just something that crossed my mind just now

I got the Albion fueller as part of Airfix's 'Ready for battle' set, intending to use in a future diorama. It was on the UK Amazon site for £20.90 and I thought it is exceptionally good value as it includes:
Albion AM463 3-Point Fueller
Bedford MWD
a load of ground crew figures
an oil bowser, trolley accumulator & an ammunition trolley
Oh, I nearly forgot, there is a Hawker Hurricane Mk.I thrown in as well.
I highly recommend it.
As to the other point...
I have noticed that although there are a lot of SCM members, a very small percentage of them take an active part like posting albums or commenting. Maybe something like a competition may help, I don't know. The problem would be, who decides who wins, and what would be the criteria. Personally I wouldn't like to decide between a F-16 (of which there will be many) and an S.E.5; or between a Panzer and an aircraft carrier.
It would be good to find something to encourage the silent majority to take a more active role, and a competition may be the thing to do it, but people are funny things. I have never been competitive myself, but I know many who are and would be upset/offended if someone else's model won rather than theirs.
Having said that, it is a very generous offer to give away one of your models.
It would be interesting to hear other peoples opinions.

Of you decide to arrange a contest set some rules. Like it must be scale xxx and a plane/tank in such and such version. Just oob or pe allowed.
You get my drift 😉
Choose something unusual. Like revell's 1/24 kenworth aerodyne

That is the thing, of course i will not participate (but if i do and win, the prize would automatically go to the second most voted and this is a rule i will consider mandatory to whoever provides the prize, this way everything is clear and fair to everyone) or be the one deciding. I was thinking that Tim (i suppose he is the admin) could create a sub page here ob scalemates where info regarding this contest to be known and all submitted entries must respect the theme and maybe the scale as well but that would depend on the theme of course (i have seen 1:72 builds a lot better than 1:48 and the other way around) so no risk of a bren carrier competing with a 1:200 bismark or a 1:12 Bentley
Regarding the PE sets or aftermarket i think it should be free to everyone do as they please, it does help creativity
Please do share your thoughts, i really do value them
