Thanks. This one came out pretty good. The tricky part was getting that number plate on the nose to lay down without distorting it too much with too much Microsol.

That would be whichever TS the instructions called for....can't recall off the top of my head, probably TS 44. No, it was TS 23 Light Blue.

Spanjaard, you can always decant the TS23. Bit of a pain but if you like the color.

that is the problem, I like the color 🙂
i may go for Zero or Gravity, that that some equivalent to TS-23, and avoid the mess of decanting..... (with other inconveniences of course.....)

Yeah, I tried decanting once with Tamiya Fluo Orange. Used it on one kit and then it just sat in the jar and went bad. Wasted money in my mind. Having said that, I have had NO luck using Zero for some reason.

well, i have not used zero myself yet.... for what i have seen from others, you need to first use primer (one that can take zero, like their own primer) and let is cure a few days, and then do super thin coats of zero paint. then let them cure for a few days, and then use a clear coat.
if the layers are too thick or if the primer was not used, it can basically melt the plastic.
And also important is to shake those jars until they are very, very well mixed. otherwise you may be spraying just the thinner... an that will also attack the plastic even more.
but again, i have not used them yet myself.

I have seen amazing results but I haven't been able to get them to work. I tried the Jordan green and it wound up looking like lizard skin and later I tried Mac red but it was SOOOOO thin that it was like airbrushing water colored water, it just kind of ran off the piece. I drained half the jar of thinner but never got around to trying it again.....what, with my short attention span and all.

Well, whatever you are using, seem to be working really well. You make really beautiful models without using zero 🙂

For the most part, all done with Tamiya rattle cans.

looks good, i've been using a variety of paints zero, alclad, tamiya and mr hobby and i've found the zero paints to work well, the lizard skin was that you put too much on too fast i think and i prime with mr surfacer and as yet haven't had any major issues, except for using zero's clear coat over acrylics... don't do that, although it does tell you not to on the bottle.
