The chassis is kinda difficult, on this kit. Mainly the front crossmember. However, take care when mounting the rear tandems. These have a habit of not seating correct, and leaving you with an unlevel chassis? Take care on this one, Calvin.

Thanks! Yeah, buddy of mine that builds a LOT of truck kits told me about the poor instructions and the issue with the rear tandem support. Taking my time and cleaning up the parts as I go. I actually plan on tackling the chassis first. Got about half of the parts for the basic chassis cleaned up.

No worries mate, glad to be of assistance. It's an old mold, and the tooling has seen better days, but with some patience and observations, she's a beautiful model when finished. I have two as side projects, but I robbed the engine out of one, for another project. I know, it's not the done thing? So, I bought another, so I don't feel as guilty? Lol, seriously, have fun mate, and I look forward to seeing your progress and results. 👍

I know Round 2 sells the re-released engine sets for the cars. Maybe they also sell the old AMT heavy duty truck engine sets??

Only one that I'm aware of, is the Gas Turbine Engine, that was originally released in the very first Astro kit? A fine engine/motor, but if you want to change things up, it's resin, from the reputed companies, like auslowe, kfs, aitm, etc? There's a lot of variation out there, and some fantastic moulds. Aftermarket parts, have certainly come a long way, over the last decade 100%

Keep at it mate. Once the chassis and rear tandems are done, things become much easier.
