Started this kit because the box is damaged, i had this project for years now so it is time to clear shelves and create room for more as well as actually build and not just collect 🤣🤣

Getting there!! Main body almost assembled, upper fuselage prepared.
Next step, drill holes for drop tank and prepare them for paint job

Next step: paint the silver part of fuselage, add nose with the weight to balance correctly and finally paint the olive drab coat

The fit is nice but the cockpit details are dreadful, I recommend the legend cockpit which will provide extreme detail, it will be compatible to all P-38's from academy

I have one of those but i am saving for the P-38 "Putt Putt Maru" also from academy. I will add a picture so you may identify what it is

The instructions mislead me, be careful with the olive drab coat, the nose is to remain polished aluminium

I am in deep trouble, yesterday i was so tired but trying to do a little bit more when i should have stopped, I accidentally spilled thinner over the wings so now i will have to try to correct it and hope that the damage won't be permanent.
A good advice, if you are tired it is better to stop and get a grip or some rest 😭😭😭

I think so as well, but i'll have to prime it again and then apply the xtreme metal over the affected zone, i need to be extra careful to not damage the decals or the canopy

Couldn't do better than what is now, luckily this model is not for direct display but for a resin experience

I didn't have burnt metal so i had to be creative and used on the turbochargers and exhausts 4 coats:
1 - a layer of titanium gold
2 - brushed titanium silver over titanium gold
3 - sprayed some smoke on top
4 - used black tamiya panel liner over all the surface

Please give me feedback if it looks similar or not 😃
