Album info

The 25mm 72-K anti aircraft gun was a light anti aircraft gun developed in the Soviet Union in 1939-1940 to fill a gap for an automatic cannon between the 37mm models and heavy machineguns. While production only got on the way slowly, the system proved it´s worth in the second half of the war. One configuration was to mount the gun on the popular GAZ-MM truck (itself a modernized GAZ-AA) of which about 200 were made at the Kolomna plant.

The kit is made by PST using their GAZ-MM sprues and the 25mm 72-K made in cooperation with Zebrano. While the gun and flatbed-sprues were nicely molded and especially the gun is highly detailed, the GAZ-MM parts are typical short-run-like with mold lines and a bit of fitting issues. Problems arose when fitting the wooden doors to the cab and when lining up the fenders among others. I fear I´ll have to do some more sanding there.
