Folded Panther

Anyone remember this old movie?
Some great shots of real Panthers actually flying off carriers 

The sprues, with the 'Matchbox' logo and name machined off 

The seat was very plain, and since I was not going to have the pilot in there, I jazzed it up a little 

I broke the control stick cutting it off the sprue, and then I dropped it after I'd carefully glued the two pieces together and painted it ... lost forever, so I made a new one out of wire with blobs of white glue for the knob and canvas boot. This is the original 

There was a nice decal for the instrument panel 

Added wire levers and a defroster hose 

The tail unit and the nose needed some filler, also some sinkholes in the wing roots 

After an overall coat of Humbrol 015 Gloss Midnight Blue 

What happened to the air brakes: I thought I'd drill out the shallow indentations so the red wells would show through.
That's when I discovered that what I'd thought were dimples were, in fact, pimples. Needed a macro photo to find that out.
I'll have to make new ones
