ACE 1/72 152 mm gun Br-2 vignette

You must possess some superhuman skills! (I was asked to build this kit by someone, and when I took a look at the parts and the instructions sheet I resigned... it is just impossible for me 😉 ) Chapeau bas!
Well... I initially thought "Yeah, a little towed gun should be done quickly and I´ll have time for some groundwork!" And then my weird subject-choice brought me to this, lol.
You are correct in that the instructions are far from clear. Unfortunately, the kit seems to be designed with very tight tollerances which means that a lot of mountin-points will have to be enlarged. But on the plus side, there is a huge ammount of details on it. So it should be worth the hazzle I think...
Welcome in, then 👍 The next steps will be focussed on painting the Br-2 to get it ready for final assembly and thus integration into the scene
Your scenery looks fantastic so far, I'm curious how it will look when it´s finished!
It's kind of a shame that there is no metal barrel for this topic... 😉
@Simon: Welcome in! Yeah, a metal barrel would have been a relly nice thing in hindsight... maybe one comes for the 280mm version and gives me a reason to build that 🙂
@Michael: Welcome In 👍
Finished this somewhat longer than planned project! Final photos are now in the album. Overall this was a good little challenge and I am reasonably happy with the outcome 🙂
wow! fantastic duo, model and figures. I did not realised that it was 1/72 until I read the description!!
With so much depth in detail it really looks like bigscale on first sight. Great outcome!! 👍 👍
Wow!
Enormous gun, beats the one or another tank.
And my respect for the implementation, you have succeeded in creating a very authentic gun position 👏
Is very nice to look at, all choosen colors of the dio and the weathering fits well together.
@Rui S: Thank you very much!
@Simon: I believe the overall look really benefited from doing an airbrush-predusing on the artillery piece as well as airbrushing the grass and being able to tweak the colour 👍
Album info
The 152 mm Br-2 was the "gun"-part of the Soviet "Heavy Triplex" system incorporating heavy 152mm guns, 203mm howitzers and 280mm mortars on a common - and somewhat unusual - tracked carriage. Developed in the 1930s, only a small number of these powerful guns were manufactured before the start of WW2 (the 203mm Howitzer was much more common). Accordingly, service records of these guns are somewhat sketchy with one of the uses mentioned being in the Battle of Seelow Heights in April 1945.
This last setting will be the base for my diorama including ACE´s 1/72 Br-2 with some 3D printed figures from FC ModelTrend depicting an emplacment after the intitial action with one soldier resting while two others recap the engagement.
This is my entry for this year´s Towed Guns groupbuild 🙂
