I think the difference between your version and the early one are the rear-view mirrors and the ventilation stacks on the roof. Otherwise, I think they are pretty much the same.

I am reminded of some Tamiya news I saw today, presumaby upcoming kits. Airplanes and cars/trucks together in one kit (plane + car or truck), in 1:48 scale though.
