A good story, that really reminds me of the DE HAVILLAND DH.88 COMET from airfix i once bought. It´s the red one however. And amazing results for that kit! Makes me wonder if i shouldn´t build mine instead of hiding it behind the rest of the stash. 🙂

Very thanks for your very kind comments. I'm glad you like it. It takes a lot of putty but I have to say, that the construction was still interesting and makes fun. This was my second Airfix Kit that I ever bought. I cannot remember, that in my Childhood any Airfix Kits was available in my preferred hobby stores. My first Kit was the B732 Air New Zealand 1:144 Scale and modelling experience was not too bad, but the final result… This was not an Airfix issue, it was ruined by my low skill level.
I remember the day as I bought the De Havilland DH.88 Comet in my preferred hobby store. It was Saturday after a hard week in my job and at those times I didn't know anything about the history of the Kits, I am looking on the Boxart and choose them. At home I wanted to start the Build with great euphoria, I but the disenchantment came immediately. At those times, I didn't know anything about the history of the Kit and that this Kit was based on a Kit from year 1959. I put it back into the box and store it deep in my stash. At those times my stash contains just 4 or 6 Kits (the good old times, when I did not have to fear that the piles of Kit's would me not be buried under the col
