A good story, that really reminds me of the DE HAVILLAND DH.88 COMET from airfix i once bought. It´s the red one however. And amazing results for that kit! Makes me wonder if i shouldn´t build mine instead of hiding it behind the rest of the stash. 🙂

Nice story indeed. But what an excellent result given the fact that it is such an old kit. My compliments for your build.

Very thanks for your very kind comments. I'm glad you like it. It takes a lot of putty but I have to say, that the construction was still interesting and makes fun. I grab the kit from my stash after I watch a very inspired documentary about the "The Great Air Race - England to Melbourne 1934" Youtube Video
After watching this clip (and hear the Comet) I had to build this kit 😉

At home I wanted to start the Build with great euphoria, I but the disenchantment came immediately. At those times, I didn't know anything about the history of the Kit and that this Kit was based on a Kit from year 1959. I put it back into the box and store it deep in my stash. At those times my stash contains just 4 or 6 Kits (the good old times, when I did not have to fear that the piles of Kit's would me not be buried under the col
