The tank is from the 29th Znamenskiy Tank Corps. If a Soviet unit excelled in combat next to a large city, it was given the name of that city. In this case, the city is Znamenka in the Ukraine.

thank you fro the history. i thought of the decal schemes offered, this one looked the best, and it's good that it has a history i can relate to it. Sadly, it's tough to research Russian military history in that way because i don't understand and cannot type the language. i always appreciate those who can tell me things about stuff like this.
