I've decided to get a new MG and the track set, both of which will cost considerably more than the original kit, but will certainly improve it, I think. I'll only use the trailer tracks on this one, but I've got another UE kit that can have new tracks.

Hi Rui. I wouldn't call it a difficult kit. You just have to make allowances for the fact that it is a very cheap kit (8.41 euros) and some corners have been cut in production. For instance, the MG is pretty awful - no pretense at having a trigger or any holes in the cooling jacket, etc. The steel coloured hoop on the front of the carrier is supposed to be a coil of wire, or a towing cable. The shovel won't fit where the instructions say to place it. Another thing that I found was that the taper put on the edges of parts to facilitate removal from the mould is often a bit excessive. Parts that should have a rectangular cross section are more trapezoidal than they might be. Where the track sections join, each section has the top or bottom half of the last link moulded on the end of the run. This gives a good contact point on the next set of links, but it's a pain when trying to fit the tracks around the drive sprocket or idler. You just can't get any angle on that kind of joint.

Yap, low price with high quality is difficult to find 🙂 we just have to consider the challenges involved. I always think, bring a cheap kit to a good result his more rewording 😉
keep up the good work 👍

Thanks, Rui. Yes, it is good when you get a good final result from a not so good kit. I'm a bit stuck now as I'm waiting for the tracks & MG to arrive.

Despite the problems, the tracks look really well done. I bet you are glad they are done already! I didn't have your skills when I made mine... I do recall that the illustrations in the instructions were clearly hand drawn!
