Battle of Manila
Labanan sa Manila 1945

Scale:
1:35
Status:
In progress
Started:
October 27, 2018

I started this project after gaining an interest in the Philippines during WWII. My fiancée is from the Philippines, and when meeting her she was surprised I knew of places like Corregidor, Bataan, Cabanutuan, Los Banos etc. In talking with her I found out that the Comfort Women and other atrocities carried out during the Japanese Occupation were more heavily emphasized than actual battles (the largest being fought in her own back yard).

This diorama was supposed to be the Battle for Rizal Stadium, but I decided to change it to a Street battle as Manila is one of the only places where that type of fighting occurred. That and the Japanese fortified the dugouts in Rizal Baseball Stadium were not able to be seen in the open.
