Nanchang Q-5 (Trumpeter)
Chinese Fighter Bomber

Another venture into aircraft will be the Nanchang Q-5 fighter bomber in 1/72 by Trumpeter. The plane was developed in the late 50s and early 60s by major reengineering of the MiG-19/J6 platform. My model will be in a green camouflage, which should be more familiar to the armour modeller than any crazy bare metal finishes 😉 The specific scheme was the aircraft "20598" in 1980.

I have the same thing and planning to build it up, I personally saw the real plane and have to say this one has not perfectly modeled the real thing, but still would be fun! Also I'm feed up about Chinese pale gray painting and what was the green camo you mentioned exactly?

The green camouflage is the on suggested in the painting instructions. There is also a profile of this scheme on "Wings Palette". I will post the scheme as aheader for the project 👍

Thanks man, I see.
Mine is Q5- 乙,was a naval type, doesn't have that camo suggestion. No wonder.
Would like to see it.
