Deinonychus antirrhopus
3D-printed from "Dino&Dog"

Scale:
1:35
Status:
Completed

As of yet, my figure-painting has been restrained to small scale figures and stowage but lacked some "real" miniature-painting... Thus I decided to paint something different... a dinosaur! Having been a hardcore Dino-Nerd as a kid, I couldn´t resist trying out 3D printing this little Denonychus when I saw the 3D file. With a "realistic" feathery coat and interesting posture it would make for a really nice display and a worthy step into painting miniatures.
The Deinonychus antirrhopus is the famous species studied by John ostrom in the 60sl eading to somewhat of a revolution in the public view of dinosaurs. The animal lived in what today is Northern America ca. 110 million years ago during the Cretaceous period.

The print went really well although the limits of my Photon Mono are visible in places. I primed the model with Mahogany Mr Surfacer 1500.
