Germany worked on on some very much "weird" and "over-the-top" vehicle projects during WW2... sof ar so well known. At least partially it is this "weirdness" that draws modellers to some of these subjects. One of these is the Krupp Räumer S, an articulated 130ton 4x4 steel-wheeled mine-clearing vehicle finished in a single prototype during the latter stage of WW2. The original was captured and evaluated by the Americans.
As I wanted to make this stragne looking vehicle stand out even more, I picked up a "What-If" type mineroller for the Takom 1/72 kit... I imagine an additional roller.kit would make clearing wider lanes a lot more efficient than just the vehicle´s wheels themselfes. The scene I imagine is would be something like a second prototype being captured (again by American forces) somewhere in Germany. While two GI´s will triumphantly rest atop the huge machine, a bunch of captured Germans will be placed in front of the machine. I am definetly toying with nmot only adding a hastily sprayed/painted-on Allied star on the Räumer, but also do some "Tech Intel"-style inscriptions like seen on some Japanese prototypes in real life.
As the whole thing will be quite imposing for a 1/72 vehicle it is really advantageous I picked up a neat wooden base at EME in Lingen...
