During the Algerian war, the GHAN-1 (Groupemement d'Hélicoptères de l'Aéro-Navale n ° 1) experimented with 2CV vans modified to carry guns
In 1955 the combat helicopters arrived in Algeria.
In 1956, the 31F naval air force transported troops.
In 1957 it formed the GHAN1 with the 32F and the 33F: group of helicopters for naval aeronautics.
In 1959 Lieutenant-Commander Eugène-Pierre Babot took command.
That same year he decided to transform a 2CV into an armed and air transportable pick-up.
The 2CV thus lightened is much lighter than the jeep.
He removes, cuts out all that is useless, adds anchor points for transport in a helicopter, puts in a medium-heavy weaponry, a 12.7 machine gun; a 20mm cannon or a recoilless 57mm cannon.
