IJN Nagato

Hull preparation. Fit Ok at this point 

Insertion of secondary armament. This was difficult. None of the barbettes and gun recesses fitted. Each gun mount was reduced in size dramatically to have them fit the required recess. 

Another day, another challenge. No guides or markings to indicate where each level of the Pagoda superstructure was to go. Lots of viewing of photos and another larger scale to hopefully get them in the right position

Test fitting of turrets. 

Tamiya IJN grey used as base colour and deck paint going on.

Had the option to place two more Pete's in place. Decided to stick with the one 

 

 

Anchor chains inserted. Required drilling and insertion of brass rod into the pulleys (not sure if that is what they are called 🙂 ) 

Test fitting to base.
Base still to have wake and wave tops completed
