Admiral Graf Spee 1939 in 1/700 Visualizar: apresentação de slides Mosaico Lista 1 December 15, 2020
Boxart is nice... gonna be a little bigger than my 1/72 tanks 🙂

Dry fitting of subassemblies
6 December 15, 2020
Wood deck texture is good enough for me... maybe I should have bought new gun barrels...
7 December 15, 2020
Already showing its characteristic twin-turret appearance
8 9 December 15, 2020
The recon plane and catapult will be enhanced with PE and added later
10 December 15, 2020
First PE-works on the main mast. I dind´t do a mess... yet
11 12 December 15, 2020
A tiny boat with a little PE. There´s only enough PE for two boats in the WEM set though...
13 December 16, 2020
The Arado floatplane had some very fiddly PE parts. I already fitted it onto the catapult carriage as it helped me to allign the floats much better
14 December 16, 2020
The "Coronel" plate on the main superstructure is sitting right below the searchlight platform
15 December 16, 2020
The railings for the main deck have also been fitted
16 December 16, 2020
The superstructures are still missing their railings although I started adding PE ladders
17 December 16, 2020
The Graf Spee had a targeting radar on the forward firing director. It looks much better in PE than in plastic
18 December 18, 2020
I started doing some railings on the superstructure and built up the cranes
19 December 18, 2020
Aside from railings, I also fitted some ladders to parts of the superstructure
20 December 18, 2020
The Graf Spee had an insignia plate on her bow which was also included in the PE set. A nice detail
21 December 19, 2020
It is coming along rather well...
22 December 19, 2020
I hope this amount of detail will do for now... much of it can be visually enhanced after painting so chances are, the result will look the part 🙂
23 24 December 21, 2020
The Flyhawk twin 3,7cm Flak 30... their AA Weapos set was definetly worth the investment
25 December 21, 2020
All the subassemblies lined up for painting. First thing will be the primer, as tehere is a lot of PE around
26 January 18, 2021
Basic colors are done
27 January 18, 2021
Waterline masking turned out to be a little problematic... have get more experience with this flexible masking tape stuff
28 29 30 31 32 33 January 18, 2021
With a wash applied, the details of the superstructure became much more pronounced
34 January 18, 2021
Those Flyhawk AA guns are just magnificient in their level of detail
35 January 18, 2021
The boat make the ships main decks look way more "populated"
36 37 38 January 18, 2021
I also managed to do some painting on the floatplane. Also some wood areas have been further distinguished by a dark brown wash
39 January 18, 2021
The stand Has been modified to have the nameplate attached to it. It still needs paint though
40 January 18, 2021
Some additional weathering on the main deck was achieved by spreading out streaks of dark brown wash
41 January 18, 2021
The screws also still await painting
42 43 January 25, 2021
My rigging may not be 100% professional, but bettter than nothing

Album info I am building Trumpeters/Pit-Roads 1/700 scale Deutschland-class heavy cruiser Admiral Graf Spee in her 1939 fit when she was on her final vojage to meet her destiny in the southern Atlantik.
I have been fascinated by the German "Pocket Battleships" for a while now, as their concept and devlopment history is quite interesting both technically and historically. And the vessel looks really nice... so I have to build it 🙂
WEM hotoetch is being used as well as some Flyhawk injection AA weaponry which should be better than the kit parts. Other than that however, the kit is rather nice and fits well enough
