As usual I started with the cockpit. Pedals, seat and Armor plating is PE. It is a bit insane as the cockpit is usually hard to see, but I will build this one with Open canopy and side door. It is also my first time using Mig Ultra Glue for the PE. So far it has been a good experience.
Finished the cocpit and glued the fuselage. As usual it will be hard to see, but the seat belte added a nice touch. The instruments are really cool but will be nearly invisible.
It starts to look like an airplane. The fuselage seams were pretty rough so I used a tad of putty. It is possible I could have just sanded them, but better safe than sorry. So far the fit has been thight and a bit of sanding was neccesary to get a smoothie fit between fuselage and wings.
This is the 1/72 scale Special Hobby Spitfire F. The kit is a «High Tech» edition which means it comes with some resin and PE parts. According to several modelling forums the kit has several accuracy issues, but IMHO it looks to good not to be built ?
One major issue with the kit is that there are no instructions for the PE parts. Some of the parts are easily recognized, but there are several bits I have no clue about. If the kit fits as good as it looks this will be a fun build. As mentioned in the heading this will be the South Rhodesian version.
