Actually, I want to try make pearl coating in unusual way, so there is a chance that the final result won't be great at all)
The idea is to use my approach for Nightingale's propellant tanks: Black + Sparkling (or it was Mica?) Silver as base coat, and Pearl White + Levelling Thinner as final layers. This time I want to use 2 different metallics for base coat, and 2 mixes of Pearl White + Levelling Thinner + other whites + maybe Pearl Gloss. And something similar for blue (or violet?) gradients.

Sounds interesting, I am wondering how it'll look. You might want to try on some spare pieces first.

Yeah, I'll do spoon tests. In worst case it will be just one pearl color

Using Tamiya LP Pearl Clear as medium didn't work at all. This varnish doesn't work good as pearl varnish, not talking about mixing with other colors. Probably best way is to buy Mr Color Crystal line, but I'll work with what I have. So it will be just mixing White Pearl with few drops of other colors. Preshade works to some degree.

I once made a nice candy color by using metallic aluminium or silver as a base, with clear red ontop. Maybe something like that could work, too in your case. Depending on what exactly you want to achieve. Good luck! Make sure to post the results.

Candy is what I did with Nightingale:
Tamiya Mica Red is not exactly metallic, it`s a rather bright red with high transparency and small amount of metallic pigment, so with levelling it works much like clear red but with extra sparkling.
