How was the kit? I like the slightly dusty weathering there.

It's very simple, but thats exactly what I wanted, an afternoon build. The main problem is the tracks and suspension. I'm a fan of band tracks for their quickness especially in this tiny size, but these are 2 pieces per side, and require the heated pin head method to join, and the pin part aren't long enough to make a good join so need to be reinforced with a staple and glue hence the mess. I can't get paint to stick either. The suspension arms are so thin they break easily, and so I found it very difficult to get tracks to tension using the front idler because of all this weakness. But I wasn't prepared to build a Panda version with individuals so there it's is.
Dusty, I have Afghan setting in mind, and saw recent photos where they look like a flock of pidgeons have attacked, the dust seems so white. I went with just oil brusher oils, no pigments this time.

Are you saying that you got the dust effect from oils?

Yep, oil liners, used the dust colour. Started with medium earth for ground in dirt then added the dust and a bit of buff for finish. Put down dots and blended or streaked with white spirit moistened brush. Just done same on a SU-85 but not as dusty, it's a good technique for my style as I'm too heavy handed with pastels
