Painted the turret interior (really nice of tamiya for making an interior for the turret) but it looks horrendous so either im gonna have to paint it with another coat or just leave it like that. Also have to re paint the turret exterior because it looks bad too and i dont have any XF-61 left.

As one of my inspirations, @clement once said "i buy a kit and then just go on and on buying aftermarket parts". Not the same but a more basic version. Maybe my inspirations should be like astronauts and firefighters but im working with what i have (aka @Gorby, a dude named Kristian, @Kalle Kindel and @Clement).

Got the building and camo of the tank done, used slightly watered down paint at some areas to try and recreate a slight camo pattern. Now im making the accessories and applying the decals

Got the decals on, a lot more stars than i thought. Really good decal quality, as i ran my finger over the decals i couldn't feel them. They basically blended into the texture of the Sherman

Got the weathering done. Nothing impressive, just some shading, oil stains and subtle rust effects on the machine guns but i think it looks good. I call the tank FINISHED!!!!!!!

Got the sandbags done, now it might seem too much but let me mind you this M4 has a 75mm which does not have wet ammo stowage so the chance of the ammo lighting on fire when shot is around 80%. And to my knowledge US tankers didn't want to die a horrible death, maybe if they were Japanese but they aren't.

Looks like SCM finally pulled through. Took this pic about a day ago, glued empty shells onto here to make the illusion the commander was throwing them out of the tank to reduce weight or make space. Now the tank is glued to a base but ill send pictures of that when i get out of school.

4 cans of iced tea, enough M&M to cause the heat death of the universe, about 2 days and a little PVA later we're here. Took a stick from outside and now its drying. Gonna use it to make a tree 😄

Added some grass to the turret as makeshift camo and to the tracks to make it look like the Sherman has been through hell

Nice work. Don't forget that any loose oil drums or boxes would probably fall off when a real tank moves, so they would most like be strapped down.

I would add straps but i dont have any polystyrene nor the precision to paint them. And on this Sherman in particular it's in place, sniping tigers and any other IFVs so i can imagine it wont be moving much. Though maybe ill try painting straps on the oil drum later.

you can take the the metal that covers wine bottles (tin?), cut it with scissors, and paint it in any color. or even paint it and then cut in thin stripes. serves really good for this kind of applications. it is possible to buy that kind of material. but if there is any bottle of wine being open at home, you have it for free.... another material that can be used is thin aluminium. Nesquick used to have a thin layer alumium under the lid of their cans for example. pretty useful stuff
a can of cola or similar drinks can be also cut with any scissors, but is is stronger than the other two i mentioned, so it may not be the best for those stripes. but you have some waiting to be used at home for sure. just be careful with your fingers, this stuff can be quite sharp 😉

Since i cant upload pictures for whatever reason *exasperated sigh* ill just update yall through the comments. Started working on the brass shells. Got shell casings onto the Sherman now im painting the APC rounds
