Modelcollect's papeg panzers are nice, but some them arr nonsensical.
Like this one:

WWII German E-75 (Modelcollect UA72144, 1:72)

UA72144

Can attest to it, built it.
This thing wouldn't actually work...

Some of those What-If subjects are indeed quite nonsensical. THis particular offering however, is one of the more sane and even has distinct roots in reality. Thus it might look more or less plausible when finished 👍

How do the OKB tracks fit?
Any problems or do you have any comments about the assembly?

As always those tracks are nicely detailed, however this set had some "flash" to remove. For bending, I had to heat them up using a heat gun, although warm water might be more effective to retain temperature. The only real problem is joining up sections that had been cut to length and one has to be somewhat careful there. Luckily, these "odd" spots are on the upper track run and thus not really visible

Some update here: Unfortunately, I had a fail when cutting the base to shape a bit more 🙁 After trying to rebuild using different foam framed with thin wood and ran into issues again with warping of the wood. I will likely switch to making a basic frame from thicker wood (which doesn´t warp that hard) and fill in the interior with foam. Also, I think about incorporating one of the Black-Dog diorama bases as the building really matches the vision I have for the scene...

Made the switch to the black dog resin building now! It changed the layout significantly, but is very detailed and should be fun to paint... thus I declare: I´m back on track

Welcome in, then 👍

I have now reached the "stage of questions" during painting. I have applied the green stripes and hull red panels but I am thinking of two things:
a) Handpainting some soft hard-edge camo on the subturret and the mantlet via brush to make them look as if they have been colored by a different workshop
b) Maybe making the "Splinter-camo" into a three-tone one adding some brown spots

Where did you find stls for 1:35 figures?

Tom B.
They are on sale on CG-Trader by Artejaol. They come scaled for 1/25, so they require some scaling, but it is possible to print them smaller 👍

Try putting the vehicle facing the other way. It's blocking the view of the more interesting part of the building.

@John Hughes That might be it! I found something off again while testfitting today... may be it is just the wrong way around... thanks for pointing that out 👍

WoW! fantastic work so far!
With the dio base you have achieved something good.
A concordance for all '35.
The camo also fits perfectly with what-if.

Finally got this project finished this evening 👍 I´ll have to see wether I can take some nice final photos tomorrow... Next thing will be another diorama for the "Novemberprojekt" from the German modelling podcast Abenteuer Modellbau which is themed 10x10cm...

Looking really great indeed!
What a monster of a TD, I really wonder why was it even planed back then.

You have achieved an excellent composition here!
Background, environment and tank fits perfectly together.
The building looks awesome and you did a good job with the mortar.
Also like the weathering on the vehicle itself.
Great thing 👍👍👍

Thank you for the kind comments 👍 This project will serve as somewhat of a template for a future project with a 5,5cm Flakpanzer Panther... Although I will do a little different groundwork there...

i was thinking that it was a really good dio, and then saw that it is 1/72, and not 1/35 as i thought initially, simply WOW!

Album info

Building Modelcolects rendition of the illusive StuG E-100 often dubbed "Jagdpanzer E-100". I will upgrade the kit with OKB tracks and an Aber metal barrel. Different surface-textures will als be applied to give the "heavy metal"-look necessesary to express the size of this armoured behemoth.

Notes on the build so far:

- Where the hell should the exhaust go? The MC-kit seems to be based off the WoT model which also has no dedicated exhaust. However, in my mind at least, venting the hot exhaust up below the barrel would create heat-problems, so I added a side-facing exhaust made from Revell spare-parts from my spares-box.

- The ABER-barrel is designed for the a Trumpeter kit, thus I had to do some cutting and add a lot of superglue to have everything hopefully stay in place...

- I replaced the "blocks" representing the periscopes + cover with 3D-printed parts.

- The front-plate of the hull received some interlocking welds as they were missing in the kit.

- I took a Black-Dog base for the vignette, which I had to extend to fit the vehicle. Therefore, I cut out a correctly-sized block of sytrofoam and glued the resin base onto it, then built up the ground using different acrylic textures and plaster rocks

- Several 3D-printed items have been scattered around the base for additional detailing
