Fun Japanese produce box stack supplied with the kit. They give you two such boxes in the kit, they simply fold together. Note they only fit on the 4ft skid supplied with the kit sideways! 

 

 

 

 

Nice details on the four foot pallet. They give you two with the kit, a nice touch. So many weathering and detailing opportunities here. I gave mine a basic weathering job for now. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note the lack of detail on the lift chain and lift cylinder within the mast. The kit does not provide these parts despite the depiction on the box art. Certainly an opportunity to scratch build your own. 

 

 

 

 

 

The largest mistake I made on this kit was not adding counter weight to the forklift during the construction phase. If you want to pose your lift with anything of weight on the forks this must be done. There is sufficient space underneath the driver’s seat within the hull to add weight during construction however I forgot, so I had to retro actively dremel open a hole and fill it with gravel. This still wasn’t enough to hold my plywood and balsa crate so I had to superglue 4 Pennie’s to the underside. Even with the pennies it has to be placed on the forks in a particular manner in order for the fork truck not to tip towards the crate. I probably also should of made the crate only with balsa to keep it as light as possible. 

 

 

Shows how much weathering can add to a model, especially a fork truck. Those things get immensely scratched and scuffed! 

 

I dremeled out grab handles on the seats as they appear on the box art. 

 

 

 

Simple build, excellent weathering test bed! Just note if you wish to load anything of weight on the forks to add the weight under the seat assembly during the construction phase to avoid tipping your load!
