The ubiquitious T-34 participated in all major battles and offensives during the Soviet Great Patriotic War in countless different variations giving the modeller a huge choice of more or less distinct vehicles to build. In the winter of 1941-1942, T-34s were heavily involved in the fighting around Moscow and the resulting counteroffensive. These tanks often wore a distinctive "Chicken Wire" winter camouflage.
After doing some research in Francis Pulham´s "T-34 Shock", I identified an intersting option for such a winter-camouflaged T-34. It is one of the first vehicles produced by the then newly established UTZ 183 under a limited programme of that factory to provide T-34s with stronger frontal hull armour. To this end, a 15mm plating was applied over the front hull.
To build such a vehicle, I will use UM´s T-34 Model 1941 as a base and add the additional front armour and replace the wheels with the 10-bolt type by OKB.
